Welcome to our blog!
We are a pair of artists, that have an ecclectic set of skills and experience. Lorrelle and Fleur are our names and we have decided to combine our talents and expertise in this venture that we have decided to call the 'Fauxporium'.
Lorrelle has been an artist all of her life, with fine art, pottery and folk art (including being published in many Folk Art magazines in the 90s) dominating many years until she took on the role of a props maker for the Sydney Theatre Company, quite late in life. Now she is retired and assisting daughter Fleur in her artistic endeavours.
Fleur is an accomplished artist in her own right, having inherited her mother's natural skills in painting and sculpting, she also is a professional make-up artist, before moving on to her latest love which is creating miniature items for dollhouses.
The name Fauxporium has come about because we'd like to offer a range of services in this enterprise, namely handmade one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and limited edition miniature pieces, including our very popular 'Mouse House in a Bottle', faux taxidermy (realistic or whismical) (full size or miniature), home decor and whatever else takes our fancy and inspiration at the time. We are also open to taking commissions for specialty props. Intriguing? we hope so, and hope you will follow us as we build our emporium of faux, the 'Fauxporium'!
We also are in the process of organising our website and will also sell items via etsy. Watch this space!
Thanks for reading and until next time, wishing you all the best,
regards, Fleur :)
